2/24/09 Interview

I interviewed my father for this particular assignment for he as worked as a city, state, and federal employee before. He also keeps a on going interest to news reported on the media, view several at a time. So with this I believe he is the most knowledgeable on the particular subject.

Q: What do you think about the current situation concerning budget cuts?

A: Well, the government is completely messed up. There should be no reason for this to occur, especially taking away money from the Universities and public schools. What else? There is also the whole situation about the job cuts; this is being to affect so many people. At a point we might even be vulnerable. Everybody is having a hard time affording things, houses, cars, and just overall credit card debt.

Q: What do you think needs to be to stop the cuts from continuing?

A: I’m not sure. Hopefully this thing with Obama works out and things can start going back to being some-what normal. On the other hand it might completely screw us over. The main thing I believe in is that once the government stops spending money they do not need to , the country will be better off, for example wasting billions of dollars on the war over seas.

Q: When do you think the cuts will end?

A: Well I don’t think its going to be any time soon. These kinds of things usually take a while to turn around. But for it to be completely fixed in five years would almost be a miracle.

2/16/2009 Obama Speech!

In his inaugural speech, he is able to persuade people by keeping their attention. If he cannot keep this they will never come across his ideas. It is how he delivers his speech changing the level of the tone in his voice. But on the other hand, the order he delivers his message in. He delivers a positive, negative, then a bigger positive example. He continues this over and over again. He delivers his persuasive speech in a cause and effect manor. By mixing the two together he is able to have the message sink into the listeners mind. He also delivers several messages at different time to different social classes, ethnic groups, and age categories. For in this speech, there is a little something for everybody.

Reflection on changing 2/12/2009

This is kind of weird but it might work out Ok. I don't know about not knowing our grades, I like knowing so I can step up extra hard to improve or maintain. Class room is cool, but I would prefer to use my own laptop, for I know to use it better. I guess not having to use paper all the time is good. Worried yes, stressed about it, no.
